Isaac Ivins, Jr. and Joseph Cox Debt Case

Here is another document from my autumn visit to the New Jersey State Archives.  This is a debt case between Isaac Ivins, Jr. and Joseph Cox.  As you can see, the witnesses to the 1763 bill obligatory are Ann Johnston and Jacob Wright.  To date, we have theorized that Jacob Wright's wife Ann was originally a Bonnell.  While that is still a possibility, this document suggests we should investigate Ann Johnston as another option.


Unfortunately, I don't know where to look next.  I reviewed the indexes in the State Archives but could not find another reference to an Ann Johnston that seemed to match. 

This is the unfortunate consequence of a time when women were seldom a part of the official record...
